The HP iQuote integration initially involved implementing the web services required to respond to Price and Availability (PnA) requests generated from the iQuote platform.
When a user requests pricing and inventory information from iQuote, the platform invokes a URL published by Fenix and sends a Request ID. The application developed in Fenix uses this identifier to query iQuote web services and retrieve the corresponding customer, price list, and requested product information.
Fenix then uses this information to query its own pricing and inventory data and returns the requested information to iQuote through the web services defined by HP.
Pricing and Inventory Integration
The process includes:
Receiving Price and Availability (PnA) requests from iQuote.
Identifying the customer through the Request ID.
Retrieving the corresponding customer account or price list.
Identifying the requested part numbers.
Querying pricing and inventory information in Fenix.
Returning availability and pricing information to iQuote.
Integration through the web services and WSDL specifications defined by HP.
iQuote Shopping Cart Integration with Fenix
As a second stage, the iQuote shopping cart was integrated with the Fenix e-commerce platform and ERP, allowing transactions generated in iQuote to be automatically converted into commercial documents within Fenix.
The process includes the automatic creation of Web Quotes (COT) based on transactions generated in iQuote, incorporating the corresponding products, commercial conditions, and promotions.
Each transaction retains the identification provided by iQuote, including:
QuoteId / BundleId: quote identification at header level.
DealId / OPG: promotion or commercial agreement identification at item level.
Recovery: information associated with the corresponding item recovery.
iQuote products that are not previously registered in Fenix can be represented using a generic product, while retaining the description received from iQuote for subsequent processing.
Business Rules and Validations
The integration includes specific validations to ensure transaction consistency before generating the quote in Fenix.
These include:
Request origin validation using token and user authentication.
Validation of quantities and promotion-related conditions.
Product and part-number validation.
Validation of DeadIf rules defined for specific promotions.
Payment and delivery condition configuration.
Restrictions on modifying items generated from iQuote.
Controlled conversion from Quote (COT) to Order (NDP) according to the defined business rules.
ERP Process Integration
The integration is incorporated into Fenix's existing business processes, covering the subsequent processing of transactions generated from iQuote, including orders, invoicing, credit notes, cancellations, RMAs, and claims.
iQuote identifiers are also stored in the corresponding documents, providing full traceability from the original quote through the subsequent stages of the commercial process.
Benefits
The integration connects HP iQuote, the e-commerce platform, and the Fenix ERP into a unified workflow, using up-to-date pricing and inventory information while automating quote and order generation.
This reduces manual intervention, prevents inconsistencies in pricing and promotions, improves transaction traceability, and enables integrated management of the commercial conditions defined in iQuote.
API
Integration experience with HP Iquote - FENIX
We integrated HP iQuote with Fenix to automate the exchange of pricing, availability, customer, and product information, allowing users to obtain quotes in iQuote using up-to-date information from the ERP. The integration was later extended to connect the iQuote shopping cart with the Fenix e-commerce platform, automating the generation of quotes and orders while maintaining traceability of promotions, offers, and commercial conditions from iQuote through Fenix.
